The Sugar Syrup Ratio That Actually Works
Not all syrup is equal. Spring feeding (buildup): use 1:1 ratio (1 part sugar to 1 part water by weight). Fall feeding (fattening for winter): use 2:1 ratio (2 parts sugar to 1 part water).
